How To Change Oil In 2013 Honda Accord. Easy video on how to change your own oil in a 2013 Honda Accord. This will guide you through the process in a very simple manner. Changing your oil in a 2013 Honda Accord can be done with just a couple of tools. You can buy tour OEM Oil Filter at www.edvoyleshonda.com/ parts or at www.Hondapartsofatlanta.com
Instructions
1. Start the engine and warm up the car by letting it idle for 10 to 15 minutes or by driving it a short distance, as warm oil will drain from the engine crankcase much easier than cold oil.

2. Drive the car onto a set of car ramps. Place the transmission in park for automatics and in first gear for standard shift cars. Set the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.

3. Crawl under the front of the car and place a drain pan under the passenger side of the engine. Don a pair of rubber gloves to protect your hands from hot oil.

4 .Locate the drain plug on the bottom of the engine oil pan. Loosen the plug with a 17 mm wrench or socket and ratchet. Place the drain pan directly under the drain plug. Finish removing the plug by hand and allow the oil to drain from the engine and into the drain pan. Wipe the drain plug off with a rag and inspect the washer gasket. Replace the washer if looks damaged by sliding it off the threaded end of the plug and sliding a new washer into place. Place the drain plug aside.

5. Thread the drain plug back into the engine oil pan and tighten it with the wrench or socket wrench. Wipe the bottom of the oil pan where oil might have spilled with a rag. Slide the drain pan so it is directly under the engine oil filter, which is near the drain plug.

6. Remove the filter with an oil filter wrench in a counterclockwise direction. Turn the filter over in your hands and allow the oil inside to drain into the drain pan. Discard the filter. Wipe the filter mating surface on the engine with a clean rag. Spin a new filter into place on the engine and tighten it by hand until it is snug.

7. Open the hood and remove the engine oil dipstick and the oil filler cap on top of the engine. Place a funnel into the oil filler hole and pour in four quarts of motor oil. Replace the dipstick and check the oil level. Add just enough oil from a fifth bottle to bring the level to the full mark on the dipstick. Remove the funnel and replace the oil filler cap and the dipstick.

8. Remove the wheel chocks and back the car off the ramps. Shut off the engine and check the oil level one last time. Add oil as necessary to bring it to the full mark on the dipstick, but do not overfill the crankcase.

[mikey falcone] This is not a 2013. Thanks but no thanks´╗┐
[LiVeLiKeURdying2] Question, I have a 2013 Honda Civic and I got stuck getting out of a friend's front lawn (they live out in the woods) and my car got stuck in a ditch that had rocks. Called AAA and they got me out. We ended up taking the heat shield because it was damaged (dangling) right there ' then and the car is still driving with no issues except it says 'check tire pressure'. I plan on getting it checked by my Honda dealership this Monday. Any idea the cost + labor? Thanks.
[kenbefound] No, what's that?
[fuguf1sh] That looks suspiciously like a CR-V.
[Noscx] That doesn't look like my 2013 accord, but mine is black.
[invertedlow] 17mm huh? Thanks a million, you guys rock.
[kenbefound] If you change your own oil how do you prove to Honda it was done so as to not void your new car warranty?
[bpatel923] Dam that new accord is pretty dam big ... I think I want one
[AbusiveMother] How important is it to tighten it to 29lbs? Can I just wing it?
2 - [unr1] obvious troll is obvious
[Jason Chhun] Anzac yes to prevent from leaking
[tom holstlaw] Oil change was on a CRV not Accord
[Anzac Day] My mechanic recommends replacing th e oil drain plug washer at every oil change. Do you? cheers from Downunder
[MrClos132] Accord?
[Indie Guy] What does 'lub the new oil filter gasket' mean?
[Sethcha Koy] That is a CR-V! Not Accord.
[invertedlow] Ever hear of a receipt?
